********************************* A quite acceptable original pressing of one of the more sought after classical albums which sees the pairing of : Enrico Mainardi ( Cello ) and Carlo Zecchi ( Piano ) resulting in what is highly regarded as the excellent fusion of two of the richest, most sensitive and alike temperaments in the music world … ever !! Needless to say it has been inscribed in the golden book of Italian and international chamber music.

Vinyl : Appears lightly played. Plenty of shine and a good clean sound. I certainly note the difference between listening to the sound quality on classical albums compared to say rock music where light pops etc are hidden behind a wall of crashing guitars and drums ……classical albums tend to show up the tiniest of blemishes like a sledgehammer due to the ever so quiet passages throughout. On this particular album there is very little background noise to be concerned about. Visually one can see a couple of light marks on Side 1 and a few scuff marks at the beginning of Side 2 however neither of these were distinguishable during play-back to my way of thinking… different turntables of course will have a different play-back quality and please bear in mind I usually listen to contemporary pop as well as rock music which is a far cry from chamber music. This record has also been treated on a VPI record cleaning machine to gain an accurate level of condition as possible. As stated above I am a little out of my comfort zone in rating classical records as I do feel the bar is raised and the standard is indeed much higher. Using the ‘International Record Collectors’ grading system to the letter here this chimes in as a strong VG+ … and if all my vinyl was in this condition I would be a very happy collector. On that basis I feel confident that the winning bidder here will be more than pleased with the condition of this piece as, in the main, it plays as quiet as a mouse and clean as a whistle.
Labels : Clean.
Sleeve : Very nice. No writing. No creasing. No edge-wear. No splits. No ring-wear. The corners are not 100 % … neither are they poor with some very minor handling wear only. It would not be easy to find a better example these days I imagine.
