This is an original American 33.3 RPM Monaural Long Playing Record by THELONIOUS MONK from 1955. The title is "Thelonious Monk Plays The Music Of Duke Ellington". Label / Number is Riverside RLP 12-201. This is Monk's first Riverside album in it's original form. It has the first cover artwork. It has a deep-groove white label with blue print. Monk with his sidemen, Oscar Pettiford and Kenny Clarke do their unique take on eight of Ellington's Classics such as "It Don't Mean A Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing", "Sophisticated Lady", "Black And Tan Fantasy", "Mood Indigo" and "Caravan". Record has wear, scuffs and some surface noise and ticks, but plays well without skipping. Labels have some wear, scuffing and minor staining. Cover is split out on all sides and taped together on two of them. There is wear, scuffs and staining too. Condition is: Record - VG Labels - VG+ Cover - VG- A Hard Record to find in any shape.
