We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. - Hidden gem after the late seventies expiration of Neil Young as a recording artist. Who knows what kind of stuff went on at that time? Big Important Neil ends with Like A Hurricane and only pops up twice again, with My My hey hey and Rockin the the Free World, right? Too rural, too political, too out there, you know, whatever too his other stuff is.
In response to complaints about T-Bone. You want more lyrics. Do you deserve more? Neil complaining about his dinner isn't worthy? He's neatly catching up with the times. He's not taking it seriously.
Neil Young says I was born to rock on the first track of this. Its really cool. Somehow rural bluesy rock riffs sound like rural bluesy rock riffs again.
Was Neil chasing different things? people speculate he made moves to recreate commercial success, for instance the supposedly country vibe of Harvest, but on the other hand isn't country music noncommercial for a rock musician? Aren't you alienating the core audience who hates rural-rock music? He didn't seem to care about that audience much in Southern Man.
Re-Ac-Tor, was he seeing punk rock? Is he playing catch up? Is he tired of chasing the big country dollars and just wants to make a record for himself? He was born to rock and they rock. The opera star song has some strange vocal harmonizing, I mean Im not saying is structurally harmonically strange but just really not normal for a rockin song. But Neil's always got that really high pitched harmony card to pull out of his sleeve with Crazy Horse.
Its one of the mysteries of Neil Young. How does he EVER get that to work? And why does it work so often?
- Fun, loud and rambunctious, Re-ac-tor is another strong outing from Neil and the Horse. Like Hawks and Doves, the tone on this is quirky and more lighthearted than on his seventies work, but strong melodic content and excellent playing characterize the whole album.
The lyrics are not great but fit well with the music and the general tone of the album. "T-Bone" is the most extreme example but really the song could be seen as an instrumental with the barest hint of lyrics and singing to ground it.
"Shots" is an absolute standout and could hang with any of the best songs by Neil and the Horse.
