DESCRIPTION

Lurlean Hunter - “Lonesome Gal” RCA Records LPM-1151 (Mono) from 1956. Hard to find Original Deep Groove Stereo First 1S/1S Press of this great Female Jazz / Pop Vocal album from Lurlean Hunter. A great selection of Standards and Ballads Arranged by Quincy Jones and Marion Evans and Accompanied by Al Nevins and His Orchestra. 1S/1S First Pressing on the Deep Groove Black with Silver Print RCA Long Play “Dog” Labels and in the Original Cover with No Cutouts, Promo markings or Barcode.

CONDITION

The Sleeve is in nice shape. There is some very slight basic shelf wear and corner softening. There is a scratch in the upper left corner. There is a small star stamp in the upper left on back. There is a “Meet The Girls” sticker in the upper right - I think this was an RCA Promo. Still super solid with no splits, stains, writing, tears, cutouts, etc. and I would rate it as VG+. The Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition looking lightly played. If you look closely you can spot a few slight scuffs and faint hairlines. Plays pretty much perfectly Near Mint all through but with a few random soft tics. I’m calling it VG+ to account for the slight flaws but mostly plays WAY better overall and may be improved with a better cleaning than I can give with my Discwasher brush. The Labels show some light spindle trails but are otherwise Near Mint.

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:

Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
