ORIGINAL 1977 LP STILL SEALED
MCA Records - 3029
***************************************************
Lynyrd Skynyrd is an American rock band, formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 1964. The band became prominent in the Southern United States in 1973, and rose to worldwide recognition. Three members and one road crew member died in an airplane crash in 1977; the band reformed in 1987 for a reunion tour with lead singer Ronnie Van Zant's younger brother Johnny as the frontman. Lynyrd Skynyrd continues to tour and record. Of its original members, only Gary Rossington remains with the band as of 2011. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 13, 2006.
1977's Street Survivors turned out to be a showcase for guitarist/vocalist Steve Gaines, who had joined the band just a year earlier and was making his studio debut with them. Publicly and privately, Ronnie Van Zant marveled at the multiple talents of Skynyrd's newest member, claiming that the band would "all be in his shadow one day." Gaines' contributions included his co-lead vocal with Van Zant on the co-written "You Got That Right" and the rousing guitar boogie "I Know A Little" which he had written before he joined Skynyrd. So confident was Skynyrd's leader of Gaines' abilities that the album (and some concerts) featured Gaines delivering his self-penned bluesy "Ain't No Good Life" – the only song in the pre-crash Skynyrd catalog to feature a lead vocalist other than Ronnie Van Zant. The album also included the hit singles "What's Your Name" and "That Smell".

Original 1977 1st pressing on MCA Records, with gate-fold cover. Not a re-issue, No barcode. This is the original, infamous "FLAMES" cover. This LP is STILL SEALED in it's original shrinkwrap. There are no cut-outs or punch holes. 3 of the 4 corners have wear, with the upper right, being the worse. There is also some light creasing at a couple corners, the lower left, being the most visible. The shrink is tight, with a couple of small tears to the shrink. It has no wear on the cover and the colors are still vibrant. There some light ringwear on the back (mostly on the shrinkwrap). It appears much worse in the pictures, than it really is. There are remnants of a price sticker on the front shrink. A great, hard-to-find SEALED copy of this HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE album. LP is in great condition.
