Description
Here's a rare disc issued in 1962 on the Mel-o-dy label, which was a Motown subsidiary. It is Lamont Dozier singing Dearest One b/w Fortune Teller Tell Me. It has "Disc Jockey Not For Sale" rubber stamped on both sides. There is small white label affixed to side one. Wax is in VG++ condition.
Lamont was, of course, part of the legendary Motown songwriting trio Holland, Dozier, Holland. The record number is MEL-O-DY 102. This was the first release on the label. There is a MEL-O-DY 101, but as Motown junkies know, it was released after 102.
This record rarely appears on the market and appears on many Motown wantlists.
