Description
Blue and silver label, deep groove. Blue text on the back cover. 8 tracks. Leader, Gullin, baritone sax; Carl-Henrik Norin, tenor sax. Rolf Berg, guitar; George Reidel, bass; Alan Dawson or Bo Stoor, drums. On 4 longer tracks, recorded as a "Tribute to Britain", are quintet tunes. 4 quartet tunes, less Norin, are included. These were recorded in the early 50's Gullin is considered on of the finest baritone saxophone players of all time. He was also a fine composer. These are great performances by the jazz giant. Cover: VG+ to Mint(-) Some aging on the back cover and an old price sticker on the corner of the back cover. 1" split on the bottom edge at the insert edge. Otherwise in fine condition considering its age. Record: VG+ to Mint(-) Visually shows no wear. There are a few very short, light rub marks, most barely visible. The record appears have been played a number of times. There is no discoloration to the vinyl as was typical of many EmArcy records made at that time. None of the few surface marks mentioned seem to effect the sound. Except for a few clicks, no other surface noise. I have accounted for these clicks in the overall rating of the L.P. Most of the record plays with no surface noise. Audibly checked.
