Description

An original 1st issue of HOTH on the UK Atlantic label. Matrix A3/B3. Etching 'RL Sterling'. Please note the labels make no reference to the WB logo and the perimeter text does not continue into the upper hemisphere - this is indicative of 1st issue. And also note there is an earlier matrix cut, but this 1st issue would have been available for purchase whilst the album was still charting. The vinyl comes housed in an original matt gatefold cover. Also included is the original textured lyric inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Lovely clean audio from this Ludwig cut even in those slow-build low-key moments. Interference is both very minor and infrequent. All I could detect were a couple of crackles occasionally in RAIN and No QTR, but we're talking very low-level and infrequent. These two tracks are the TEST tracks on the album and they both play much much better than you usually find. But by and large a very impressive rendition from this solid early copy.
Cover (Ex) In great shape and has been looked after down the years. Nice clean front without any of that obvious wear that often turns up. The rear is equally good with just a touch of light handling wear. The interior looks in very nice condition - no issues at all. Edge wear is pretty light and the spine seems aok. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. One inch side split.
