Description

An original 1st issue of Zep II on the UK red & plum Atantic label. Matrix A2/B5. A 1st issue from whilst the album still charted 4-5 months after release. These copies still hold the 'Lemon Song' song title on the labels - later changed to "Killing Floor".  Also included is an original plastic bag warning inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen reasonably light use. Under close inspection I could make out a few light marks per side, but nothing serious or heavy looking that would feature audibly. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with two slight deviations. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. A super player and one that does real justice to this early Zep classic. It's certainly exhibiting that detailed and yet powerful sound that the red & plum copies have a reputation for. Interference is relatively minor. All I could detect was a touch of brief static in a couple of spots per side e.g. the quieter moments of 'Killing Floor'. And the other deviation is a couple of ticks midway through Heartbreaker - difficult to make out at all given the volume of Jimmy's guitar work! Overall a very impressive rendition with not all that much to find fault with.
Cover (Ex-) Always a difficult task finding these early copies in tip top condition, but this example looks better than many that surface. A very nice clean front with very little ageing or handling wear, which is quite unusual. Note there's a tiny signature neatly written in the white area up close to the spine. The rear looks nice with just some light handling as is very common. The interior is absolutely fine - no issues at all. There's a bit of edge wear, but nothing all that noticeable. The spine is pretty good for an original Zep II. The text is pretty much just about all legible. There's a couple of slight patches of wear, but it's looking better than most examples. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Light ageing. No splits though.
