Description
Hello! This is an auction for a copy of Led Zeppelin II on Atlantic, catalogue number SD 8236. This is notably the famous Robert Ludwig “hot mix” of this title, identifiable by “RL/SS” in the deadwax on both sides. This pressing was so loud and powerful that it was bouncing the needle out of the groove on low-quality turntables upon release (particularly the cheap turntable of Atlantic co-founder and president Ahmet Ertegun’s niece), which unfortunately led to a recall and an immediate less-powerful and muddier-sounding repress. These initial copies are highly sought-after. This particular copy has some mild scuffing and scratching and plays with some background noise at quieter points, but no skips or sticks whatsoever. The cover has general shelf wear to it along with some writing, but the cover is mold-free and the edges are completely free of splits. This copy isn't perfect, but it still provides a quite good listening experience. Good luck!
