1970 UK 3rd issue Atlantic pressing of Led Zeppelin II with the sought-after “Killing Floor” label miscredit!
This is the final run on the classic red/maroon labels (Discogs notes confirm it as the 3rd issue).
Key collector features include:
• Track A3 listed as “Killing Floor” on the label (but “The Lemon Song” on the sleeve)
• Track B2 listed as “Livin’ Lovin’ Maid (She’s Just a Woman)” on the label
• John Paul Jones credited by his real name (Baldwin) on Side B tracks B1 and B4
• Unlaminated gatefold sleeve
• First catalogue number on sleeve, second on labels
• Printed & made by E.J. Day & Co., London W11
Matrix / Runouts (stamped – verified):
• Side A: 588198 A//6 ▽ 420 11 21
• Side B: 588198 B//4 14 [unreadable numbers] 18
Condition (graded honestly using Goldmine standards):
• Vinyl: Near Mint (NM) – Extremely clean. One very light mark on Side 2 that does not affect play at all. Only faint hairlines visible in bright light. Plays beautifully with excellent, dynamic sound – as good as a 55-year-old record gets.
• Gatefold Sleeve: Great condition for its age. Some expected edgewear, minor damage top left corner, and light spine rubbing. Some marks and scuffs on the back (see photos). The inside of the gatefold is very clean and attractive.
Unlaminated as issued.
• Inner Sleeve: Original inner sleeve – intact and in nice shape for the era.
This is a genuine early UK copy with the desirable Killing Floor label error, correct matrices, and strong Near Mint vinyl. Looks and sounds fantastic – a solid addition to any Led Zep collection.
