Description

Led Zeppelin II Robert Ludwig Vinyl 1969 Gatefold

US 1st pressing, featuring Robert Ludwig's "hot" mastering on both sides. These were withdrawn early because the high bass levels caused low-grade cartridges to mistrack, leading people to return the album on the belief that it was defective. Another engineer was then hired to recut a much less "hot" version of the album, and that is the far more common version.

Has RL, SS and Monarch stamp (MO) on both sides
A Rare find. These don't come up for sale too often. A highly sought after copy.

Condition -
Album cover has writing on front and a little wear around the edges but otherwise in very nice shape. No splitting. Nice color.

Inside sleeve in great shape with just a little splitting.
Album is in very nice condition with the exception of a scuff mark at the beginning of side 1 and a few very light scratches on both sides.
We play tested the entire album (Audio-Technica AT-LP60) and there was 1 skip at the scuff mark on side one. We heard no skips or issues on the rest of side 1 and 2.
Album also has some writing on side one. Center hole shows no sign of wear. Still has a nice lustrous surface (See pic No. 4)

A very, very nice copy with the exception of the scuff and one skip.  Sounds amazing and clean.
