Description
Led Zeppelin III 2401002 UK 1st Pressing ~ not like some here claiming to be 1st pressings
1st pressings have the following characteristics:
- Peter Grant is credited as Executive Producer on the top half (red) of the disc label;
- the catalogue number is 2401002 (later pressings are 240-1002);
- Run off is: Side 1: A5 "Do what thou wilt" ; Side 2: B5 "So mote it be" ~ apparently, Page wasn't happy with the earlier masters, so A5 / B5 are the earliest masters used;
- The inner sleeve tracklist and credits are in the centre of the circle with "printed and made by the E.J.Day Group London and Bedford" at the bottom of the credits
Unless the above are in place - you are being offered a later than 1st pressing - quite common here - look carefully at what you are being offered as there are a number of 1st press claims (around half of those listed on ebay) that simply ain't what they claim to be.
This is the real deal and priced accordingly - Postage is high as I will only send this with fully insured delivery.
As you might have guessed, I'm a Zep fan and only deal in high quality discs.
You can buy with confidence - as I try to be totally honest about what I am selling.
The vinyl is excellent but would no doubt benefit from a professional clean (I don't have this equipment). Feint sleeve rub can be seen under bright sunlight.
The sleeve is overall excellent with a minor water stain on the right of the inner (see pics) and minor age realated wear and minor discolouration - but hey, its over 50 years old. Spine is square, fully readable and near as the day it was sold.
Wheel is in perfect working order with no wear.
A real treat for any Zep fan - or collector of fine examples.
I will package this with the care that it deserves and will only send fully insured.
