Description

An original 1st press of Zep III on the UK Red & Plum Atlantic label. Matrix A5/B5 - very 1st cut. Please note that the labels still mention "Peter Grant" - these are the very 1st copies that would have been pressed in the initial run to satisfy the pre-orders at 1st release. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original deluxe gatefold cover printed by E J Day with fully operational spinning wheel. Also included is the original plastic bag warning inner sleeve. So, there you have it...100% genuine and 100% complete...a fully legit Zep III earliest pressing..nice!
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback.  A superb playing copy and delivering everything one could possibly hope for in a top copy. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with superb clarity. These early copies are acclaimed for their audio and this example does not disappoint. Whether it's the low-key moments or the full-on passages expect a clean and assured rendition. Interference is very very minimal indeed. All I could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side [e.g. opening seconds of Friends]. This copy pretty much aces it in all areas..... And will leave the listener hankering for more...Every time....
Cover (Ex-) These early copies are difficult to find looking really sweet...but this example is still looking more than respectable after all the time that has elapsed. The front looks very nice indeed and is only exhibiting a touch of light ageing at the extremities - as is common. The rear does not have any of the dreaded laminate creasing that is so often exhibited, just a touch of ageing at extremities. The interior is looking very nice indeed, again, with light ageing at extremities. Edge wear is light for this title and the openings still sharpish. The spine is intact.with light wear and all text legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Very very nice indeed.
Inner (Vg+) A bit of ageing, but no side splits.
