Description
Led Zeppelin - III
(Atlantic 2401 002 UK LP 1970)
This is a UK original LP pressing. It has a fully laminated gatefold sleeve which has a movable cog wheel on the front. It has die-cut areas on the front too. It comes with its original polythene lined company inner sleeve.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has red & maroon "Atlantic" labels. It has A-5/ B-5 matrix stampers. "Do What Thou wilt" and "So Mote It Be" are etched in the dead wax on Side 1 and Side 2 respectively. The labels have the "Produced by Jimmy Page. Executive Producer - Peter Grant" credit. This denotes a very first UK pressing. These are quite rare.
Gatefold Sleeve: There is some light or very mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is some light or very mild fading to the "white" of the sleeve in some areas. The movable cog is in perfect working order. NEAR EX condition
Vinyl: There are 4-5 noticeable clicks at the very start of Side 2 as "Gallows Pole" starts. It sounds like there is a scratch there but I can't see anything in particular to cause this. It doesn't jump on my system but may possibly jump on another system. As stated, the clicks are quite noticeable. Otherwise, there are some light, mild & very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There are about 3 light hairline marks. these measure from 1 cm to 3.5 cm in length. Visually the disc looks VG+ to VG++ but because of the clicks at the start of Side 2. Good+ condition. The labels are in Very Near Excellent condition & show light to very mild spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in VG++ condition. There is some light to very mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. Apart from the aforementioned clicks at the start of Side 2, it plays VG to VG+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places.
Traceable insurance is already included in the stated P&P price for non UK bidders for this listing.
