Description
A 1st issue of Presence from the time of release in 1976 on the UK Swan label. Matrix A2/B2. Etching 'Atlantic Studios'. The labels states 'Made in UK' - also verifying a 1976 1st issue. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold with the band name and album title embossed in the top-right. It is very difficult to make out unless you look at the close-up shot. The record company were not happy about the lack of visibility and tried a number of variations on later reissues to remedy this. Only a true 1st issue is embossed in this way along with the swan song logo on the rear. Also included is the original textured inner sleeve.
Vinyl (Ex+) In absolutely superb condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of marks - nothing troubling though or that sounds - guaranteed. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are very quiet and the audio comes across with tremendous clarity and very little interference at all. In fact the only intereference we detetced was for the opening seconds of side 1..Other than that we are talking a top top-level of audio. This is possibly Zeppelin's loudest work on record and boy it is very very heavy.
Cover (Ex) This LP is notoriously difficult to find in anything approaching excellent condition due to it being both white and unlaminated. All we can see here is a couple of age spots on the front - nothing that stands out..quite minor. What comes over is the purity of the colours in the shots and the whiteness of the front and back. Edge wear is minimal and the interior is immaculate. The spine is 100% intact. Very difficult to find in a better state than this. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Slight bit of ageing and a two inch side split.
