Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV, UK Original First Press, Red/Plum Label,1971

This is rare enough LP and I try to explaine why. This is  earliest ever UK 1st pressing with Red/Plum Atlantic 2401012 label from 1971 with the earliest ever possible matrixes endings A//3 Pecko Duck & B//3 Porky. Most of the Red/Plum label pressing which do have 1st press A//3 B//3 matrixes are actually not 1st pressing at all as most had standard later text on the labels. Earliest 1st pressed labels are very different to all later Red/Plum labels and were changed even before the release date with only few hundred ever made. These significant differeces are: 1. Text "Under Licence From Atlantic Recording Corpn.,U.S.A." is above white line in the red part of the label (later labels have this text inside white stripe) 2.If you look below the song listing it says "Kinney Music Ltd" only. On all later labels the credits were changed to "Kinney Music/Superhype Music Inc". 3. And the biggest difference is were the "Led Zeppelin" text is positioned - toward the bottom of each label. On all later labels "Led Zeppelin" text is slightly larger and positioned towards the top of the labels below the four symbols. So....... This is the earliest rare 1st pressing you can possibly get from day of release.This LP is seriously rare and only a few hundred were ever maded!

This has the following 1st press matrix numbers: Side 1:   A//3      with Pecko Duck Side 2:   B//3      with Porky

Vinyl     VG++    Under bright light  fine hairlines and scuffs were visible. There are two very thin scratches on each side. Clean shining surface. I have played the record and it sounds excellent.There is no background noise and  only some minor crackle in a few places during playback. Some very light clicks to entire album more noticeable at Going To California. Stairway To Heaven sounds beautiful.

LABELS  EX   Clean and bright. Not very much spindle marks. (please see photo)

Sleeve  VG+    Original gatefold sleeve is clean with no damage, writing, tears etc with moderate edge and corner wear.  There is very small split  at at the bottom edge. Quite decent example (please see photo).

Inner sleeve  VG  Original inner sleeve is crease,faded and torn (please see photo).

This is the genuine first press of this iconic LP with  Excellent Clear Audio. 

Grading System: In order to assist everyone who buys and sells rare discs, Record Collector magazine has originated a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records, I have added a (+) or (-) to my gradins  where applicable.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. 
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. 
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
