Description

This is the rare original mono pressing of Lee Morgan “The Gigolo” on the Liberty labels of Blue Note BLP 4212.  The plying surface is in near-new condition, with a high luster; perhaps played once.  The coated L.A. cover is in excellent condition – bright and clean throughout – with just 1/8” wear on the top seam at the opening; “MONO” sticker on the upper left corner of the front.  This is one of just 17 non-commercial Blue Note issues that were specially pressed for radio stations that had not yet converted to stereo transmission.   Personnel include Wayne Shorter, Harol Mabern, Bob Cranshaw, and Billy Higgins.  $200.00..
