This is the rare, important 78 RPM album set of Lionel Hampton, New Movements in Be-Bop on Decca A-661. The four records all show very minor wear, e.g. a small hairline or superficial scuff; the playing surfaces show no groove wear and the spindle holes are all clean and sharp; probably played once or twice. The art cover shows light rubbing; the gold-lettered spine is clear; the printed front endpaper (liner notes) is clean and sharp, with just slight foxing; the four leaves are in perfect condition, with no splits, creases, or dings. The highlight of the set, however, is the first track - Side A of Decca 24428: Mingus Fingers - the first composition by Charles Mingus recorded by a major jazz musician. Personnel includes Charles Mingus, Britt Woodman, Snooky Young, and Milt Buckner.
