Here is the original 13 track UK Mono LP/ Album Love Is The Answer by Lita Roza With The Roland Shaw Orchestra from the 1950’s. As B & M 57.2 is printed on the rear sleeve, this example may date from February 1957. Writing on the front cover states “… For Lonely Hearts Love Is The Answer”. Housed in a front & back laminated flip back sleeve & released on Decca Records, the Catalogue Number is LK 4171. The record itself is housed within a plain inner sleeve. The track listing is Bewitched, Fools Rush In, It Could Happen To You, I Surrender Dear, I Had The Craziest Dream Last Night, They Say It’s Wonderful, The Song From Moulin Rouge (Where Is Your Heart), You’ve Changed, How Did He Look, Hello My Darling, A Woman’s Intuition, Can’t Get Out Of This Mood & Just One More Chance. The package was made in England for UK release. PLEASE NOTE: In order to show as much detail as possible, some pictures have been merged together to create single images (e.g. different views of sleeve wear & views of the side edges).

I believe this information indicates that it comes from the First Pressing run. The Matrix Numbers are described using a clock face. The first part is the main body of the Matrix Number. It will be at 6 o’clock if it is located in front of the label with the writing curving away from me at the ends (as I look) and at 12 o’clock if it is located behind the label with the writing curving towards me at the ends (as I look). Other times give a rough idea of where additional parts of the Matrix Number are located, in relation to the main part. It’s not meant to be foolproof, just to give an idea of where the various parts of the matrix are, in relation to each other.

Condition as follows including photographs: The sleeve is in very good minus condition, due to creasing, wear & slight discoloration. There is some corner wear. There are some nicks to the open edge of the sleeve. There is some laminate lift. There is a 4cm split along the spine of the sleeve, which has been repaired with Sellotape. The inner sleeve is in very good minus condition. There is a 7cm tear to the front of the inner sleeve. There is a small amount of writing in pen on the back of the inner sleeve. The Vinyl is in very good condition. Although there is a noticeable, feelable scratch across Fools Rush In, It Could Happen To You & I Surrender Dear, there does not appear to be any clicks on these tracks. There is however, a brief burst of distortion towards the end of I Surrender Dear. Both sides play through well, with no jumping, skipping or sticking. The overall sound is good. There is some surface noise throughout, most noticeably in quieter passages & between tracks. There are some light clicks & pops here & there. I don’t think the surface noise is invasive & so would not expect it to affect your listening pleasure. I always expect some sound from records of this age & condition. *NOTES ON CONDITION: I grade according to the Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide & will not necessarily list all individual points in the written description. There will be a blanket grade for each component (sleeve, record etc), which smaller factors fall into. The general appearance will be clearly visible in the photographs. Please study the photographs in detail as they form the bulk of the description. Please be aware that play grading is based on my interpretation of what I hear on my system only. Although it is an honest assessment, it does not automatically follow that you would reach the same conclusion when listening on your own system, as there are so many variables. I DON’T use Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide categories when play grading, just my own judgement.
