Stunning electronic-avant-vocal pro-socialist/anti-fascist pieces, mixing the source voices through such fantastically immense walls of early electronic noise and musique concrete that it becomes impossible to discern between the two. In La Fabbrica illuminata, Nono uses tape-manipulated field recordings he made at a rolling-mill factory. The live electronic engineering for these works was done in collaboration with Marino Zuccheri, and the final composition was realized at the legendary Milan Studio di Fonologia. Includes insert with notes booklet by early electronic composer Konrad Boehmer. Performers include Schola Cantorum Stuttgart, Coro Da Camera Della RAI, Barbara Miller, Carla Henius, Stefania Woytowitz, and conductors Clytus Gottwald and Giulio Bertola.

Nono was a postwar serialist composer (he was Arnold Schoenberg's son in law) and politically active socialist who was a student of Gian Francesco Malipiero, Hermann Scherchen, and Bruno Maderna, an associate of Luigi Dallapiccola, Luciano Berio, Pierre Boulez, Giacinto Scelsi, and Karlheinz Stockhausen, and an early electronic music pioneer at the Studio di Fonologia in Milan (where Henri Pousseur, Andre Boucourechliev, John Cage, and Bengt Hambraeus also worked). • Should also be of interest to fans of early electronic music like Pierre Schaeffer, Dick Raaijmakers, Tod Dockstader, Bernard Parmegiani, Pierre Henry, and Francois Bayle, and experimental vocal art and artists like dada, Kurt Schwitters, Tristan Tzara, Kenneth Gaburo, Joan La Barbara, Meredith Monk, Diamanda Galas, Charles Amirkhanian, text sound, Henri Chopin, Cathy Berberian, Laurie Anderson, Clark Coolidge, Brion Gysin, William S. Packing I pack professionally and with the utmost care drawn from years of experience trading vinyl internationally. I use new record mailers which I have determined are the best and most protective, reinforced with cardboard inserts and bubble wrap padding. All records are shipped with poly plastic sleeves and with the vinyl outside of the cover to prevent damage. All packages are completely sealed with strong packing tape covering all openings. Unless requested, no paper invoice is included in the package, both to save trees and to avoid customs difficulties. If you'd like your package done any differently, just let me know.
