PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. SCARCE 1972 British release with unique laminated cover design found only on this pressing - gotten quite scarce, then again, it's 43 years old...Sunset Records bought the rights for the release some 3 years after the ('69) German issue of the very first Amon Duul II album, a terrific mix of weaving electric psych-rock, as good as it gets.

Furiously surging, ebbing and flowing, the music of the mighty PHALLUS DEI combines elements of garage rock, avant-garde, psychedelia, and just plain all-out weirdness. All the lyrics are in German but it doesn't matter; what matters is that you will be swept away. This band should be ranked far above most of their American psych contemporaries. Truly psychedelic music, not for the faint of heart. At the first seconds of "Kanaan", the first track, we can delight with a full-bodied sound, as listening the panic male voice at the entrance, telling us that something really creepy is gone happen...the "four" tribal minutes of "Kanaan" are a dazzling musical experience and the summoning of all powers of this innovative german group.Second and third tracks, "Dem Guten, Schönen, Wahren" and "Luzifers Ghilom" are that kind of Amon Düül II status, something between humor and terror, a kind of new ethnic chanting with hypnotic rhythms...there's a gloomy waltz at the end of "Dem Guten..." introducing the next track, menacing drums and almost-hindu chants, again a lot of nasty chorus, a desperate violin.
"Henriette Krötenschwanz", the 2 minute fourth track, is a little lighter tune, in fact is a march of some kind, here fem singer Renate is trying to emulate some kind of witch...
"Phallus dei", the last track of this psychedelic masterpiece, is a extended magnific jam-session, divided into various movements, always getting the trance way...it's quite extraordinary the middle-section, a madness of bongos and turkish drums side-by-side with savage screams. - Peter Leopold / drums, percussion, piano
