RARE (NUMBERED & SIGNED) Original first pressing limited edition of a tripped-out psychedelic rock collectible suitably titled as the MAGIC MUSHROOM ... for starters, the packaging is outstanding and about worth the cost alone...not only do you get a huge fold out ((double sided)) op-art designed poster cover but as well, 4 large pop-sike designed large inserts, all this housed around a transparent plastic cover that all but enhances the trilling optics, an appetizer if you will, in regard to the main course of musical sensations inside; full blown phased and swirled paisley psychedelic rock grooves...
This is a low numbered (#35) limited edition signed by by the drummer (see pictures)
The psychedelic acid induced spacerocker opens with a cool buzzing take on the BEATLES "Tomorrow Never Knows", and the for the 'right' head there is HAWKWIND inspired space rock with fuzzed out guitars & buzzing keyboards...but that is only the start among its eight tracks.
Personnel: Garry Moonboot (vocals, guitar, percussion); Kim of Oz (vocals); Eddie Bones (guitar, slide guitar); Wayne Manor (bass guitar); Swordfish (drums, percussion). On their PROCESS OF ILLUMINATION, British psychedelicists the Magic Mushroom Band exhibit the duality of their spaced-out approach. On one hand, there are nods to the more melodic tuneful psychedelia of the '60s, not only in their cover of the Beatles' "Tomorrow Never Knows," but also in songs like "Burning Like the Sun" that revolve around pure pop hooks while still retaining a 'heady' groove to be sure. At the same time, the Mushroom Band proves itself fully capable of diving headfirst into early '70s-oriented space-rock sound, triangulating a course somewhere between Hawkwind, Pink Floyd, and Twink "Think Pink", amid fuzzy guitars and twinkling synths.
