MAN - Be good to yourself at least once a day - Vinyl - 1st pressing (1972) with FOLD OUT MAP!
Band: Man
Album Title: Be good to yourself at least once a day
Version: 1st UK pressing. This LP has a prize-winning gatefold sleeve that, when opened, unfolded a 2' by 2' (61 cm by 61 cm) cartoon map of Wales showing the origins of numerous Welsh bands, including Man, and other places of interest. The principality was shown as an island, separated from England by a large channel of water, and being pushed away from her neighbour by ten men using long poles.
Producers: Dave Edmunds, Man
Label/Format: Liberty/United Artists Records Ltd.
Label Conditions: Both clean, fresh and attractive with light, mainly quite fine spindle marks with modest visibility.
Cat Number: UAG 29417
Mode / Speed: Stereo / 33.3 rpm
Original Year of Release: 1972
Outside Cover Front: The front depicts the band playing live. The only hints of wear are a few slight creases to the left and right sides. The cover is laminated with colours that are strong, rich and with clear definition.
Outside Cover Back: The back is immaculate. With no ring wear, this is quite an unusual sight.
Spine and Text: Solid and quite straight with virtually no compression. The spinal text is clear (and for 40 years +) easy to read.
Corners: virtually no rubbing, good shape is retained.
Vinyl Condition/Visual Grading: GOOD++: a fine visual copy that is clean, shiny, intense black and solidly pressed. There are some light surface marks but no penetrating scratches, hence no pops or significant clicks heard. Visually a splendid record that should please many a collector.
TRACK LIST:
Side 1: C'mon / Keep On Crinting
Side 2: Bananas / Life On The Road
Musicians: Micky Jones – guitars, vocals. Clive John – guitars, vocals. Phil Ryan – keyboards, vocals. Terry Williams – drums, percussion. Will Youatt – bass, vocals
Brief Info: Be Good to Yourself at Least Once a Day is the 7th album by the Welsh psychedelic/progressive rock band Man. This is the only studio album by this particular line-up, which also recorded the live Christmas at the Patti before Clive John left again.
Album Played For Grading: Yes. [I play ALL records I offer before submitting to Ebay, also the record is played in its entirety unless clearly stated otherwise. I do NOT play snippets or joining grooves to check for sound quality and quietness – I play from the beginning to end via clinically revealing B&W speakers that include the legendary tweeter from their phenomenal Nautilus range that reveals every blemish or minuscule sound present on any record.]
Sound Quality and Audio Grading: This 1970’s record plays mostly above its visual grading with little to fault. Strong, distortion-free sound, all frequencies are sharp and clear - sound quality is very high with a wide dynamic range and very detailed sound. Any surface sounds are mainly light and infrequent; the odd trace on the quiet passage here and there, enough to remind it is a record being played, not a clinical digital format.
