MEET THE BEATLES 1964 Capitol 1st Press Scranton IAM MONO T-2047 in Shrink EX/EX
Meet The Beatles! launched the Beatles onto the American charts in early 1964, built around the massive hit "I Want To Hold Your Hand." It's twelve tracks of the raw, tight British Invasion sound that started Beatlemania stateside.
This is an original US first pressing on Capitol, catalog T-2047.
Pressed at Capitol's Scranton, PA plant — confirmed by the "IAM" triangle stamp in the runouts on both sides.
This is the 3rd label variation — identifiable by the BMI/ASCAP rights-society split on the labels (side one's first two tracks and side two's "I Wanna Be Your Man" carry BMI, the rest ASCAP).
Rainbow color-band label, black background. Back cover carries no producer credit — consistent with this early label state, before "Produced by George Martin" was added to later pressings.
This copy is still in its original factory shrink, opened but intact, with the original vintage price sticker on the front. A rare survivor detail for a record this old.
