This is it! Along with Pari Zanganeh (though of a very different musical nature) this is the holy grail of Persian psych LP rarities!
The disc features the versatile musician Mehr Pouya at his very best. He somehow happened to be very much interested in sitar which was not even popular at all in Iran! He made very successful attempts at fusing sitar and tabla sounds into Persian melodies both in a very moody psychedelic vibe and also very upbeat funk grooves! It's just an amazing album full of varying dynamics. One side is more concentrated on crazy sitar funk with tunes like Soul Raga and the album title tune Jumbo Africa and the other side is amazing "fire up the hookah!" psych! Simply amazing.
Originals of this record like this one here just do not show up because at the time (early 70s), the LP format itself was just not popular in Iran so the record companies pressed unbelievably low quantities of LPs. Even if these do come up today, they are most certainly unlistenable. This one's in incredibly well condition!
The cover is VG++. It has no writings anywhere, no tears, no seam splits. There's light ringwear and light signs of age in the shape of short wrinkles and lines just as you can see on the photos. The surface of the sleeve is very smooth and still retaining its original color and quality! The disc is in amazing EX- to EX shape! I see only one faint hairline about 2 cm. on one side and no other visible human-source defects. The surface is shiny new and clean and unworn but as with almost ALL other Iranian pressing LP's from the early to mid 70s, the original pressing is not fantastic, mind you!
