MEIC STEVENS Outlander UK ORIGINAL LP Original UK pressing on Warner brothers from 1970.  The sleeve is in EX- condition (sticker and glue residue on the seams) and the record is in EX+ to NM condition.

[isdntekvideo] Meic Stevens (born March 13, 1942) is a Welsh singer-songwriter often referred to as "the Welsh Dylan",[who has been compared with Syd Barrett. Stevens's songs have a mystical, faintly psychedelic flavour, and are mostly sung in his native Welsh language. Still largely unknown outside Wales, he was discovered by DJ Jimmy Savile, who saw him performing in a Manchester folk club in 1965. This led to Stevens recording his first single - with arranger John Paul Jones (later of Led Zeppelin).
He made a one-off English language LP, Outlander, for Warner Bros. Records in 1970, but the contract was abandoned by mutual consent. Today, like his other LPs of the period, Gwymon (Seaweed) and Gog (Cuckoo), it is very rare and highly sought-after.
Original UK edition of these superb 1970 recordings by this top Welsh singer/song-writer acid folk artist & his superb backing band which included the dynamic presence of Ferris Wheel/If drummer Dennis Elliot, Jody Grind's-Far Canal Bernie Holland lending his lead guitar prowess, mellifluous flutist Chris Taylor from Indo-Jazz Fusions & Wooden O, Dewan Motihar from the 1967 MPS/BASF classic Jazz Meets India & Keshav Sathe from the sublime Magic Carpet etc. Yet more always uncompromising experimental improvisational recordings by this/these fine folk-rock zone troopers. Once again this player/these players demonstrate a unique affinity and collective mindset for producing such telepathic improvisation. It doesn't always work well but when it does like here it's absolutely glorious! Worth the price of admission for those who are experimentally inclined and not uptight or inclined to become prejudicially divided.
