Description
For auction is MERRELL FANKHAUSER & His Trusty H.M.S. Bounty, "Things!" on Shamley SS 701, Stereo, 1968.
SOUND: MINT
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. I had good reason to think it had never been played before. Sounds that way! Perfect, crystal clear sound on the playback!
VINYL: MINT
Visually, the vinyl is pristine. I can't confirm it, but I don't believe the record had ever been removed from the jacket. It was still snug in a crisp-folded inner-sleeve. The are no spindle marks on the label, nor any marks of any kind on the clean, glossy vinyl. I rarely use "MINT" for open vinyl, but in this case, it fits!
JACKET: NM
The jacket is newish looking. Solid, clean edges and spine. Three corners are very nice, the lower right has a small bump/dent. Both front and back covers are exceptionally clean and unmarked, in beautiful condition. There is a tiny "sample copy" sticker lower right back cover.
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
The record is a rarity, and you won't see it in better condition: jacket, vinyl and playback all pristine! Buy-it-now: $100
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material. Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
