DESCRIPTION
Merry Clayton - “Merry Clayton” Ode Records SP-77012 (Stereo) from 1971. Great R&B / Soul / Funk Album from the woman most famous for her backing vocals on The Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter". Features a great line-up of musicians including Carole King, Billy Preston, Joe Sample, David T. Walker, Wilton Felder, Curtis Amy and more! Production and Arrangements by Preston, King, Jerry Peters and Marty Paich depending on the song. A great selection of songs by the likes of King, Neil Young and more!
CONDITION
The Sleeve is still in it’s Original Shrink Wrap. The Shrink is torn away from the upper right corner and there is an old price sticker - probably easily removable - in the corner. There is a very slight bit of wear along the opening edge and on the bottom right corner. Very solid with no splits, stains, tears, writing, etc. and I would rate it as EX. The Vinyl itself is in Glossy condition looking like it was not played that much at all. If you really look closely you can find a few light sleeve scuffs and a few small light hairlines but really very clean. Visually at least a strong VG+ and since it plays pretty much perfectly I feel good in rating it as EX. The labels show a few light spindle trails but are otherwise Near Mint.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
