Description
EDIT -- someone asked for more specific details, so here goes. There is a loud pop just before the music starts on Side 1. The rest of the transitions between songs are crystal clear and the bells at the beginning of FWTBT send a shiver up my spine. Metallica used fade in/fade out on so many songs on this album and they sound good to me. Side 2 starts cleanly, there are some pops during the transition before Escape and a little at the end of Escape, but Creeping Death starts clean and strong. The rest of Side 2 plays quite well. Overall, the album plays very good, in my opinion. Oh, and there is a little warp at the outer edge of the album and you will notice your tonearm bounce up very slightly. It looks like it resolves within the first minute of music. I posted a short video to show what I'm talking about.
Not an expert at grading but I would grade this G+ to VG+ based on my listening experience with the album. Defects are more of a cosmetic nature, not affecting the actual playback as a whole. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are "OK". The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. Spindle marks may be present. Picture sleeves and inner sleeves will have some slight wear, slightly turned-up corners, or a slight seam split. An LP cover may have slight signs of wear, and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation, or cut corner. In general, if not for a couple of minor things wrong with it, this would be Near Mint.
