Description

MFSL - Robby Krieger - 1985 Mobile Fidelity/Cafe Records Japan LP. Cover is NM with a few light corner bumps. Vinyl is NM.

This is the rarely seen self titled instrumental LP by Robby Krieger (formerly of The Doors) (Mobile Fidelity/Cafe 1-730). Also performing on this album are Mothers of Invention veterans Arthur Barrow, Bruce Gary and Don Preston. The songs are: BAG LADY 9:00 - REGGAE FUNK 4:19 - BASS LINE STREET 3:51 - COSTA BRAVA 3:24 and NOISUF 14:44

Cafe Records is a label that Mobile Fidelity started when they decided to do their own recordings instead of using someone else's tapes. It was a short lived project, but what they did produce was very well done, and pressed in very small quanities. Only the best went into this particular recording - microphones modified by Joseph Grado, microphone pre-amps by Mitchell Cotter, and the Studer A-80 tape deck was modified by Mark Levinson. And of course; it was given the half speed mastering that MoFi was famous for, and pressed in Japan. Very punchy sound.
