I am offering for sale my superb, unplayed and mint copy of the very rare MFSL UHQR number MFQR-1-510, HOLST: THE PLANETS. It was pressed around 1980 by the JVC company on 200-gram Super Vinyl. My copy is extra rare because it is number 318 out of 5,000, which means it was produced as part of the first pressing. I believe. It's extremely hard to find these with numbers under 500. The LP is totally mint, as is the box, paperwork, and the outer and inner sleeves. I bought it sealed and am the second owner of the LP. I opened the record and cleaned it on my Nitty Gritty Mini Pro vacuum record cleaning machine. I then treated it with LAST Record Preservative, as the Library of Congress does, and returned it to its sleeve and box. I am calling it "Used" because I played about 5 minutes of the first track, "Mars-Bringer of War", in order to check-out a new cartridge I bought. That was the only time any of the record was ever played. It stayed in it's box until I opened it again to take the photographs. The LP was not removed from its outer or inner sleeve for this. This LP has a VERY quiet background, an incredibly smooth, liquid sound with great detail and incredible dynamics. In addition, the performance of this fabulous piece by Solti and the LPO is breathtaking.
