Alexander Woollcott was a famous drama critic from the late 1910's until his death in 1943 He was critic for The New York Times, and later for other New York Newspapers He was known as "The Town Crier" on his radio program Woollcott was a member (and self-appointed leader) of The Algonquin Round Table He appeared, as the title character, in the play "The Man Who Came To Dinner"
