Description

Michael Garrick Septet – Black Marigolds vinyl. Recorded in 1966. Released in 1968.

Argo Record Company Limited. Sleeve Printed by Graphis Press Limited.

Cover design by Madeline I. E. Leston.

This is the first pressing mono version with yellow labels, the release date on the label is 1968 and catalogue number is DA 88 and the runout groove is stamped with the ARG-3081-1B and ARG-3082-2B matrix. For some reason this mono version seems to be in the sleeve for the stereo version, which is the same but has a different catalogue number ZDA 88 on the top back right hand corner. The sleeve is front laminated, and has age damage on the spine and side with some faint stains on the reverse, all of this can be seen on the photos. I have had the vinyl professionally cleaned. The actual vinyl has a fair few scratches and marks, it plays with some pops and ticks and has surface noise, I have just played it again and there were no sticks or jumps, my friend who is a record dealer grades it as Vg+ to Ex -. After reading the Record Collector Grading System I would say maybe G+ to Vg – but I am no expert.

If you have any questions about this record please do not hesitate to ask me, I know that this is a very desirable Jazz record and will hopefully become part of someones collection. Very low start, I will be posting this out to the winning bidder first class signed for tracked. Happy Bidding.
