MILES DAVIS - IN PERSON AT THE BLACKHAWK, SAN FRANCISCO VOLUME 1
A nice condition and very presentable copy of this 1961 Miles Davis gem with impressive audio quality throughout

1961 Miles Davis gem on cherished US Columbia 1st press "six-eye", deep groove record label : very good plus (VG+) condition vinyl - thick, weighty, completely flat and giving off a gorgeous jet black sheen even after all of these years - it is only with close scrutiny under a bright light that a few wispy hairlines and extremely faint and strictly surface only light scuff marks come into view on each side, along with a few small areas of vinyl "dulling"...all non-feelable, appearing to be superficial only, and barely impacting upon the overall excellent MONO audio quality. Near mint (NM) condition 1st press Columbia "six-eye" labels with just a couple of barely distinguishable small spindle trails on each label. Note the circular "deep groove" on each label - a clear indicator of very early pressings. Very good plus (VG+) condition non-laminated thick cardboard outer sleeve, with firm edges and just a little mild scuffing towards the corners which themselves remain nicely defined right angles. There are some mild surface storage/handling marks on both sides of the outer sleeve, a little more pronounced and noticeable towards the edges on the reverse side (see photos). The spine remains rock solid with barely any glitches at all and the spine text remains near perfectly intact. The opening edges are firm with no fraying or feathering, and all colours/art work remain nicely intact and with excellent definition. Still highly presentable and fully functional. Excellent (EX) MONO audio quality with no skips, sticks, jumps, repeats, interference, or distortion, just the very occasional very light background click (no doubt down to the odd speck of dust caught in the grooves through decades of storage) and any background crackle is very light, very background, very occasional and non-intrusive. Great tone with crystal clear MONO audio quality throughout with Miles Davis in top form. Superb!

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
