TOP COPY ...1969 Original first pressing vinyl of the very first Joe Cocker album with his timeless impact hit 'With A Little Help From My Friends' with an incredible back up band featuring Steve Winwood and Jimmy Page....Joe Cocker's voice shines, but Jimmy Page on guitar and Steve Winwood, occasionally, on Organ makes this one the greatest backing bands of all time. Jimmy Page's guitar solo on Bye Bye Blackbird is awesomely epic.
Without doubt one of the total impact albums released in the sixties. Few albums sum up quite so well, how far rock had come during the sixties and how great it could be both technically and emotionally. The combination of musicianship and feel is superb throughout Joe Cocker's first alnum. There are 10 great tracks on here and even though there are only three originals on the album, they are all great; Majorine, Change In Louise and Sandpaper Cadillac, which would have made a great single. The versions of Just Like a Woman and I Shall Be Released are the definitive versions. Cocker - Stainton was one of the great teams in music at the time. With 10 tracks that could have graced any singles chart to chose from, the cover versions are not just covers, they are re-inventions with possibly the greatest vocals ever on any album -- Cocker's vocals just roar
