PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Original 1970 first pressing in thick gatefold...1970's METAMORPHOSIS added the ex-Blues Image fire power guitarist Mike Pinera to generate a heavy hardrock sound, add to the catchy nature of the self penned compositions you have a major hit sound in underground rock standards -- big FM radio playlist i the timeless "Stone Believer", Free Flight" "Easy Rider" capped off by the 14 minute talking wah-wah box infected "Butterfly Bleau" ... The sound of Iron Butterfly was changing, unavoidably with the new decade, the 1970s: the guitars sound more robust, the drums and the bass full and creative, all filling the sound with more density, including the organ, which dominated the atmospheres and even the riffs, is much more balanced in its incursions... the technical improvements make this band sound different with "Metamorphosis"...
By 1970 the Butterfly where heading into hard psych and the results are often very good. Kind of like Grand Funk smashing into Steppenwolf over at Iron Butterfly's house. all in all digging this.

CONDITION: The Cover: the thick gatefold, M- ...still in original factory shrink wrapper, there is a little square of outer cellophane missing at top right, still all cover is snow white ... has but little tiny tiny pin marks at top right corner ( pin, not pen marks), so small you only notice close up and even then, so minor...there are no split seams, no bends, no writing and has bright colors, contains the rare "Metamorphosis" sticker on outside of the cellophane ... a great hard to find collectible...final collection copy
The Vinyl: all shiny clean on both sides; M- plays real nice all clean and has clean Atco labels ... altogether a nice CLEAN underrated hard psych Lp.
