Description
FLETCHER HENDERSON AND HIS ORCHESTRA made excellent records, and here's one of their best: "MONEY BLUES." It features LOUIS ARMSTRONG (trumpet) essaying a blistering, full solo chorus, and fine solo statements from BUSTER BAILEY (clarinet) and COLEMAN HAWKINS (tenor sax). A crisp ensemble and a smart arrangement make this record a MUST HEAR!
The same applies to "I'LL TAKE HER BACK IF SHE WANTS TO COME BACK" on the flip, though the only soloist is Hawkins.
Did I mention that it was electrically recorded? That too! It's one of only three Western Electric records made during Louis' tenure with the band. Also, there are two takes of "Money Blues"; this is take (-1).
This original 1925 Black Label Columbia 383-D is in nice V++ condition. Has a few surface scratches, otherwise it would be E for wear.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
