MOONDOG

UK 1ST PRESSING ON THE CBS LABEL CATALOGUE 63906.

RELEASE DATE 1969.

SLEEVE MADE & PRINTED BY E. J. DAY GROUP LONDON 7 BEDFORD

CBS ADVERTISING INNER SLEEVE

HIS FIRST ALBUM RELEASED HERE IN THE UK ON THE ESQUIRE LABEL IN 1959. TEN YEAR LATER MOONDOG RELEASED THIS HIS SECOND ALBUM ON CBS AND LIKE HIS FIRST IT WAS ALSO SELF-TITLED.

MOONDOG, BORN LOUIS THOMAS HARDIN A BLIND AMERICAN COMPOSER, MUSICIAN, POET, INVENTOR OF SEVERAL MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS AND KNOWN FOR MUCH OF HIS LIFE AS THE VIKING OF 6TH AVENUE. IT IS BELIEVED HE WOULD WRITE HIS BRILLIANT COMPOSITIONS WITHIN HIS MIND USING BRAILLE. MOONDOG HAS BEEN AN AND WILL ALWAYS BE AN INSPIRATION FOR MANY MUSICIANS, WITH SEVERAL SONGS DEDICATED TO HIM, ONE BEING “MOONDOG”, FROM PENTANGLE’S 1968 ALBUM “SWEET CHILD” THAT TELLS OF HIM AS THE STREET PERFORMER PLAYING A DRUM ON THE CORNER OF 6TH AVENUE.

I EXPECT THE GENRE “EXPERIMENTAL” WILL SUFFICE FOR THIS ALBUM, ALTHOUGH COMPOSITIONS ON THIS ALBUM DO NOT FIT NEATLY INTO ANY ONE SINGLE CATEGORY, BEING MODERN CLASSICAL, JAZZ, AND EXPERIMENTAL AT THE SAME TIME. MOONDOG SHOULD BE LISTENED TO AND CONSIDERED AS AN ALBUM TO ADD TO A COLLECTION.

Grading Records:

The photos within this advertisement are of the record offered for sale. I do not use stock images or previously used photographs.

This record has been checked visually both under normal daylight and under a strong under halogen spot-lamp. Every record I sell has been checked for its audio quality and played through completely on both sides. I check to ensure that they are flat on the rotating turntable.

I grade all records using The Record Collectors grading system, visually grading the vinyl surfaces, labels, inner sleeve and cover, adding a single (+Plus) if I believe the quality is slightly better (- Minus) if slight under.

Packing& Postage Costs:

I aim to dispatch the next working day from your payment.

I take great care in the dispatch of records and only use strong cruciform packaging. Every record is placed within a new poly-lined inner before its dispatch to you. The vinyl and sleeve are separated to decrease the likelihood of damage to sleeves. I can offer combine postage for two records for the same cost as sending one.

International Airmail shipping to the USA, Canada, Japan & Russia is £13.30 GBP for International Signed for Delivery with tracking.

Airmail shipping to Europe is £11.80 GBP for Signed for Delivery with tracking.

The Record Collectors Grading System

MINT: The Record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and extra items are in perfect condition. Records advertised sealed or un-played should be mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra Items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover suffers from folding scuffing of edges, of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc.
