Mosaic box # 104 is a 5 LP set of the complete Blue Note and Pacific Jazz Recordings of Clifford Brown. The music contained in the set (49 tracks) include his sessions as a leader, as well as a co-led quintet with Lou Donaldson, and sessions with JJ Johnson, and Art Blakey. Musicians also appearing on the set include Elmo Hope, Percy Heath, Philly Joe Jones, Jimmy Heath, John Lewis, Gigi Gryce, Charlie Rouse, Horace Silver, Russ Freeman, Zoot Sims, and more. The set was just the 4th release from this new label, Mosaic. The vinyl is absolutely pristine - no marks whatsoever. I would be surprised to learn it had ever been played. No spindle marks (correction; one spindle mark on side 2...), no fingerprints, no scratches. The 8 page book has remembrances by his daughter, LaRue Brown Watson, and Quincy Jones, session notes by Ira Gitler, discographical notes, and photos. The book is VG++ with perhaps a little discoloration from age. The box is VG+ with some tape holding together the top R corner of the top of the box. The previous owner also taped a 1" piece of tape over a sticker on which he wrote the letters "LP". This sticker is on the out spine. I am not going to try to remove this in case it bothers the set itself...I'll let the buyer make that decision (see photo). The set is in the low 4000s of a limited edition of 7500.
