Up for sale is the Ship to Shore PhonoCo. reissue of MOTHER 2: Gyiyg Strikes Back (Earthbound) Original Soundtrack on 2xLP — the highly sought-after Starman variant featuring gray and gold vinyl, matching the iconic metallic colors of the Starman enemies. OBI strip is present and intact. Both records appear unplayed, with no visible scuffs, scratches, or marks on the playing surfaces. The gatefold sleeve shows some honest signs of shelf storage, primarily along the top seam (see condition notes and photos for details).

CONDITION NOTES

• Vinyl (both discs): Near Mint / Mint. Plays through inspected — no visible surface marks, scuffs, or scratches. Discs look as though they have never been touched.
• Gatefold Sleeve: VG+ overall. Top spine seam shows minor splitting / opening at the top corner (photographed in close-up). Some light red ink scuffing and slight laminate lift along the top edge, consistent with upright shelf storage. Front and back covers, gatefold interior, corners, and bottom seam all remain in excellent shape.
• OBI: Intact, complete, no tears or significant creases.

ABOUT THIS RELEASE

The MOTHER 2 (known in the West as Earthbound) Original Soundtrack was first released by Sony Music Entertainment Japan in 1994 to accompany Shigesato Itoi's beloved Super Famicom RPG. Ship to Shore PhonoCo. brought it to vinyl for the first time in 2015, presenting the full 24-track score across four sides — including Side D's three "PSI Mix" bonus tracks. This release is dedicated to the memory of Satoru Iwata.

The Starman variant is one of the more visually distinctive pressings in the Ship to Shore catalog, with its silver-gray and metallic gold discs mirroring the appearance of the game's Starman enemies — a fitting nod for collectors of both the soundtrack and the broader Mother series.
