Description
Mad John Fever - Breath and Thunder / One World Lost to Another, on Century Records, catalog # 40990. A date is given of 1971, probably ascertained from the number; but does not actually appear anywhere on the label, or the endwax. This is Stephen Hagler and Herb Schildt of prog rock band Starcastle, from Champaign, Illinois. (RYM states that other members, Gary Strater and Steve Tassler, are present; but the first two appear on the songwriting credits.) Produced by Paul Tassler, who was the bassist in the initial pre-incarnation of the band, under the name St. James; so it appears likely that at least four later Starcastle members are present, and an additional one, Paul, as producer, from before their big-label debut. Side A opens, and continues with, the distinctive keyboard sounds and stylings of Starcastle synthesizer and keyboardist Herb Schildt, and is progressive rock. Side B is more of a regular rock track. Seven-inch vinyl / 7" single, plays at 45 rpm.
Condition: There are numerous scuffs and scratches on both sides, but none are deep. Only two are feelable. I will be happy to provide further photos, if desired. This will be carefully packed in a plastic outer, then between a couple layers of solid cardboard for safe shipping, in a 7" mailer, and sent out within two business days of receipt of payment.
