Description
"Madrigal's Magic Key To Spanish" Record 2 by Margarita Madrigal, H. Andres Morales Narrator, black vinyl LP released by the Special Products Division of Columbia Records ca. 1953. Features art by Andy Warhol.
Jacket: VG+, Absolutely no seam splits, however there is a small 1/2" tear on the left side seam (see additional pics), only very slight signs of wear to the edges. There is a pinhole at about the mid-point of the top seam. It is not visible when looking at the front or back of the jacket, only when you look down directly at the top of the seam. If not for the slight tear, I would easily grade this jacket as VG++/EX. No handwriting appears anywhere on the jacket (or labels). The front has minimal but consistent yellowing around the edges. I'd also like to point out that the front of the jacket is one consistent shade of red, I was just unable to completely eliminate the glare in the photos. The shade of red also appears a bit darker in person that it does in the photo. There is no ring wear, but if you look closely you can see the slightest bit of indention at the outer edges of the record - I believe this could be completely eliminated if the jacket was to be framed without the album inside. The yellowing on the back of the jacket is also minimal, especially considering that the entire background is white. Based on the research I have done, I believe this album is in at least as good, and possibly better, condition than than any other copy previously made available for auction.
I also have volume 1 for sale, which features virtually identical artwork. The yellowing on the front of volume 1 is noticably less than on this one. I believe that if both were purchased, displaying the front of volume one and the back of volume two together would look very nice.
Vinyl: Labels are NM with virtually no signs of wear at all. Based solely on a visual inspection, I would grade the vinyl as VG+, both sides are quite glossy and have minimal signs of wear, however there are a couple of small scratches that may affect play. I assume that the interest in this album lies almost entirely in the jacket art, but if you'd like a new vinyl grading based on the actual audio, please let me know.
Although I have listed UPS Next Day Air / Worldwide Express, I have not yet determined the specific method I will use for shipping. It will ship very securely packaged and fully insured, and will require signature upon delivery. I will combine and discount shipping for multiple items purchased. If you have any questions, please let me know. Bid with confidence - I have been an Ebay seller since 1998, a record collector / seller for nearly my entire life, and even once worked as a quality control manager at a vinyl record pressing plant.
