The Nine Symphonies of Gustav Mahler

Here, for the first time in one set, are all nine symphonies of Gustav Mahler, definitively interpreted by the conductor who "has a kind of clairvoyance where Mahler is concerned" (Kolodin, Saturday Review).

This unique limited edition contains 14 records and includes a deluxe 36-page booklet with articles and analyses by Mr. Bernstein, by Mahler expert Jack Diether and others, plus many photographs of the composer.

EXTRA: A BONUS 12-INCH LP RECORDING "GUSTAV MAHLER REMEMBERED"

Intimate word portraits of Mahler – the man and the composer – by his daughter Anna and musicians who knew and worked with him, (from a program produced by William Malloch for station KPFK-FM, Los Angeles.) Also, the compose himself plays his own piano reduction of the orchestral score of the last movement of his Fourth Symphony, reproduced from historic Welte piano rolls.

Symphony No. 1 in D Major

Symphony No. 2 in C Minor “Resurrection”

Symphony No. 3 in D Minor

Symphony No. 4 in G Major
