Comments: My oh my, this is a powerful tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King. Of al the recordings I’ve heard with Big Maybelle I have never heard voice stronger and her emotions truer. Deep Soul indeed. The backing is equally strong with Jack Taylor letting all back-up musicians shine.
On the flip is a soulful interpretation of Paul McCartney’s classic, in a straight forward and still refreshing arrangement. Not to forget the classy vocal performance.
