Few conductors enjoyed the command Jean Martinon demonstrated heartily with the Orchestre de Paris.
This is Martinon’s esteemed set released by EMI, featuring all of the orchestral music of Maurice Ravel, with wonderful soloist support from Aldo Ciccolini on piano and Itzhak Perlman on violin.
An incredible prize, definitive for some, that also displays a wide sound stage and glorious definition: Here in a 5LP edition, box having suffered some degradation, because it was stored horizontally with many boxes on top. (That said, it still remains handsome, with only bowing and slight softening of all corners, which remain intact.)
Inside, the booklet is fine, and all 5 LPs – the original EMI early UK pressings – will play near mint. Fact is, the set shows very little sign of play.
Am extraordinary edition, with great sound, worthy of the finest vinyl library.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
