Description
Blue label with silver text, deep groove. 7 tracks recorded on August 10, 1954 with Clifford Brown, trumpet; Max Roach, drums; Harold Land, tenor sax; Richie Powell, piano; George Morrow, bass.
Cover: Good(-) The cover has been affect by aging and a condition frequently found in early EmArcy pressings of a white "dust-like" film over the cover. Small peeling of the lamination along part of the insert edge. 1" split on the bottom edge at the insert edge. Light aging on the back cover.
Record: VG++ to Mint(-) Visually shows some very light wear. A few discoloration streak marks on Side B. The vinyl has a slight grey appearance which may be related to the manufacturing process of the early EmArcy records. It does not affect the sound. Side A, Track 1 has 6 isolated faint clicks. Track 3 has faint groove noise on the 1st revolution and slight groove noise on 1 or 2 revolutions at the end of the Track. Also, 2 very light clicks towards the end of the Track. Side B, Track 1, faint groove noise for less than 1 revolution in 2 or 3 places, barely audible. Additional 3 or 4 faint, isolated, clicks, barely audible and 2 or 3 clicks slightly more audible. Track 2, 4 or 5 faint clicks near the beginning of the Track, barely audible. Slight groove noise for 1 revolution towards the end of the Track. Track 3, faint groove noise on the last revolution. Track 4, 2 or 3 very faint clicks near the beginning of the Track. 1 additional light click near the end of the Track. I have conservatively graded the record. There is very little surface noise. I have taken into consideration the appearance of the jacket and the discoloration on the vinyl. Fine sound and general condition. Audibly checked.
