Description
For auction here is a rare STEREO copy of McGough McGear by Roger McGough and Mike McGear on the yellow and black Parlophone label. This is a UK 1st pressing with a catalogue number PCS7047
The vinyl looks in a very nice condition with just a very few minor wispy lines and marks but no heavy feelable scratches. I have played it through and it sounded pretty good but there was some light background in the quiet moments between tracks but I would think a professional clean would cure most of this. The vinyl lies flat and there were no skips or sticks, no repetitive clicks or pops. Vinyl grades as VG++.
The matrix numbers are:
Side 1 - YEX 679-1 1G
Side 2 - YEX 680-1 1G
The labels are excellent with no writing, tears or spindle wear. Labels grade as EX.
The flipback cover is showing its age a little with some grubbiness and marking on the unlaminated back. There is some waving on the back at the opening edge and also a 50mm split on the bottom edge at the opening. I have added photos of both the faults. Those faults apart the cover is very solid and the spine is fully legible. Cover grades as G+.
The original EMI inner sleeve is free from writing but does have some creasing and tape repairs to splits along 3 edges. Grades as G+.
Although not mint this is a very decent copy of this rare LP.
