Description

Double lp 12" SCORE FOR THE STAGE PLAY of Alexander Pushkin's EUGENE ONEGIN, originally composed by Sergei Prokofiev, circa 1936. Performed by the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of the Central Radio and Television Union, conducted by Kemal Abdullayev. Released 1974 in the USSR on Melodiya Records (33 C 10-11911-14), stereo. The score's long and unfortunate history included censorship and long-lost manuscripts that were dusted off for inclusion in the final composition. The stage play was intended to be a massive production dedicated to the one-hundredth anniversary of Pushkin's death. Here is included performances by The Stanislavsky Chorus Of The Moscow State Musical Theater, narration by Alexey Konsovsky, the voice of Eugene Onegin by Eugene Kibkalo, and the Voices of Nature by Natalya Milanovich and Yan Kratov.
