Description

The Conceirto de Aranjuez requires no introduction: it is THE most popular guitar concerto ever since it's premier in 1939. The real gem here is the Concierto Andaluz, which Rodrigo dedicated to the Romeros and receives first recording here. The four guitars can be clearly heard to form a small semi-circle in front of a chamber-size orchestra. The strumming and plucking can be discerned even during orchestral climax, but not overly highlighted as so many later recordings do. Wonderful music making here. This Golden Imports reissue actually sound fuller and more dynamic than the original!
